Surrounded by a 4,000 acre estate this beautifully and meticulously restored farmhouse dates back to the 1850’s. When you arrive you can really feel the history and spirit of the Scottish Highlands, yet its contemporary and stylish Scandinavian design makes you feel at home straight away. Its design makes it feel warm and welcoming throughout, creating a cosy place to return to after a walk, fish, cycle, or experience in the wild.
Killiehuntly Farmhouse offers you an exclusive and personal retreat for up to 10 people on a fully catered basis. Alternatively, it is possible to stay on a non exclusive basis and share the Farmhouse with other likeminded individuals. If you choose this option do not worry as there is plenty of areas inside and outside to enjoy your own space. We love the idea of sitting in the garden watching the sunset sipping a tipple from the honesty bar before heading in to your locally sourced, home cooked delicious supper. The Farmhouse feels like a stylish home from home.

In the Farmhouse there are 4 bedrooms. The largest of the bedrooms is The Alder Room with a super comfortable four poster bed, writing desk and en-suite bathroom. The Elm Room is smaller but just as beautifully furnished with king-size bed and private adjoining bathroom. The Birch room boasts a king-size bed, comfy armchair, writing desk and spectacular views over the fields, this room has a shared bathroom.
The Oak room is spacious with stunning landscape views as well as a Queen size bed and a shared bathroom.
service & extras
It is a catered experience here with daily housekeeping. The price includes a hearty breakfast every morning, and a relaxed cup of something hot with cake to keep you nourished until supper. A 3-course dinner, is included within the rate, it’s served family-style in the dining room and at kitchen table. This typically runs five nights each week excluding Tuesday and Wednesday, but do check with the bookings team for availability. As Killehuntly is a working farm the food is from the farm, its garden, greenhouse or is locally sourced.
Here is all about homemade, local, simple and honest food being served in a setting where people escape the daily routine and busy life.
The Farmhouse is available to rent exclusively on a fully catered basis, for a minimum of 2 nights rental, making it the perfect place for that special holiday or celebration that you have been planning. Let the housekeeping and private chef look after your every need. If you are a larger party then you can hire exclusively The Farmhouse, Geordies’s Cottage and The Bothy together to sleep up to 19 people. Private hire can be catered for 16 guests split over 2 tables. Please contact us for availability and the requirements you have.

Sauna Yurt, outdoor wooden plunge tub, two outdoor fire pits, (all shared with the other guests on the estate) parking, washing machine and dryer, towels, bathrobes, hairdryer, toiletries, raincoats, umbrellas, Wifi, honesty bar, housekeeper, chef, maps, homeware shop, reading room and library of books. No television.
Dogs are allowed to stay in The Hayloft (the close by studio apartment) but not in the Farmhouse itself. Dogs are £20 per dog for the stay. Maximum 2 dogs.
activities
The farm is part of Wildland Ltd whose main aim is to restore and conserve natural landscapes and local communities so there are plenty of activities based around this. Explore this beautiful region by foot. Follow the paths or go your own way for a day with a well organised rucksack and a tasty Killiehuntly Piece. Fishing is very popular here. Spend the day with an experienced ranger who will also teach you about all the various different wildlife here. Take the fat tire mountain bikes out for a ride off the beaten track.
Go for a wild swim in the Tromie River. Have a ‘pony picnic’. Try the sauna yurt and work up a sweat. Relax at the Farmhouse with a book. You can also visit the local Ruthven Barracks, one of the best preserved British barracks built during the Jacobite uprising or head to the Speyside whisky distillery.

The Killiehuntly Estate
Located within the Carirngorms National Park, Killehuntly is just a two hour drive north of Edinburgh, yet you will feel like you are in another world when you arrive here. This estate is bursting with breathtaking natural beauty. Carirngorms National Park is home to an abundance of wildlife, castles and distilleries, excellently located within the Scottish Highlands. If you are a fan of country pursuits activities range from Deer Stalking, pony picnics, wild swimming, fishing and cycling. There are also endless walking paths and trails that will take you on adventure through dense woodlands, lakes, rivers and valleys.
