Villa Roncone – Umbria, Italy
Villa Roncone is a haven for completely unwinding in and soaking up the majestic views and stunning sun sets across Lake Trasimeno. This charming restored farmhouse lies in the heart of an olive oil estate in Umbria, Italy. The architect owner has carefully combined modern touches with traditional materials to create a luxurious, unique home from home.
The main house is extremely spacious with a fabulous living room that opens up onto a terrace overlooking the lake on one side and on the other a covered pergola area for long al fresco lunches. The kitchen is well equipped and a sociable space with a dining area and fireplace. In the main house there are four en-suite bedrooms (three double and one twin) and one further twin bedroom with access to the family bathroom. Each of the bedrooms has been tastefully decorated and each has its own character and charm.
Separate to the main house is the Hayloft Annexe. The Hayloft annexe is equally luxurious and stylish and provides additional space for an extra couple. With its own living-dining area, central fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and a double en-suite bedroom.
Outside is where you will want to spend most of your time for it is stunning. There are fantastic facilities for cooking al fresco on either the BBQ or in the wood oven. The pool itself is really special – set in an ancient olive grove, surrounded by neatly tended lawns and blending gently into the surroundings.
Nearby there are all sort of Umbrian and Tuscan gems to visit, be it Cortona, Cetona, Perugia, Assisi and of course the lake itself but you may well find that its hard to draw oneself away from the charm, magic and total ease of living at Villa Roncone!
