Explore the Salamander
The glorious Salamander is a fantastic example of the original, classically-styled sailing gulet (a wooden sailing vessel from the south-western coast of Turkey).
A 100ft yacht constructed in Bodrum, it sleeps 12 guests in 6 en-suite cabins fitted with WiFi and air conditioning. Four of the cabins are fitted with double beds, whilst two have a double and single bed. Spread across the boat are 5 different socialising and relaxation areas, both in and out of the sun.
Even better, the Salamander is tailored to water sports. An 8m RIB with 75HP outboard motor, sailing dinghies, paddle boards, canoes, and snorkelling equipment are all included with the boat!
Indulge in the ultimate fantasy of decadence, guided through your holiday by an expert four-man crew, including a skipper and chef. Revel in the smooth sailing, as you’re provided with breakfast, lunch, and supper whilst out at sea. This includes all locally-sourced food, house wines, beers, and soft drinks. Sailing season in Turkey
Thanks to Turkey’s blessed climate, the sailing season is longer than most, often beginning in April and continuing into November.
We love visiting in May, June, September, and October. Here, there is limited rainfall, and long, sunny days stretching into warm evenings. Sailing conditions are superb, absent of tides or strong currents. Instead, you can enjoy warm breezes.
For lovers of pure heat, July and August is the time for your sailing holiday in Turkey. Temperatures soar into the 30’s and the clouds evaporate into clear blue skies. The wind is typically stronger in these months, generally picking up around late-morning, but dissipating in the late-afternoon. With years of experience and knowledge, the Salamander’s crew knows exactly how to navigate the conditions and make your trip perfect.

Sailing Itineraries
When sailing in Turkey, your time is absolutely your own! There’re plenty of locations to explore and beaches to visit. We offer 5 different example itineraries with the Salamander, showcasing what makes this region so special.
One fabulous example is Göcek to Bodrum, starting in the splendid Göcek Marina. Though a popular spot, it remains unspoiled, benefitting from a surviving tranquillity. From there, you can head to the bustling Fethiye. This port city is perhaps the finest in the area, with plenty to see. Exploring by boat allows you to visit the secluded islands scattered across the broad bay.
From there, you’ll continue on to remarkable sites, bursting with stunning scenery and intriguing history in equal parts. Discover the ancient Tomb Bay and Hamam Bay, or the isolated Ekincik of Marmaris, perfect for an inland hike. Loryma is another beautiful bay, with a welcoming sailor’s house serving authentic seafood.
Approaching the vibrant Bodrum, you’ll also anchor near the fascinating cities of Selimiye and Knidos. Bodrum is a worthy finish, boasting Bodrum castle, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
