When it comes to ski holidays we’re best known for our chalets, but since dipping our toes into the Alps hotel scene, we, and our guests are getting a real taste for them!
Whether you’re looking for a smaller group, fantastic facilities or a Kids Club, sometimes a hotel just works. Our ski hotels still have the F&P touch – they’re in excellent locations with fantastic facilities, first-class and friendly service, easy access to slopes and delicious food. We’ll also provide you with our expert concierge service and look after you every step of the way.
Not only do the hotels have so much to offer but we are charmed by each and every Alpine resort for different reasons. Over the next couple of months you’ll be hearing about our hotels and what it is we love about each destination. Where better place to start than France where it all began with our Méribel chalets collection?
With an incredible snow record and state of the art snow-making facilities, our French resorts (Val d’Isère and the 3 Valleys) offer some of the world’s finest skiing. The resorts are easily accessible from major airports; alternatively take the train from London and put your feel up whilst enjoying the scenery; or you can pack everything bar the kitchen sink and drive down from Calais stopping along the way. Being so established, the resorts are incredibly well thought out to accommodate families (of all ages) and you’ll find the very best ski schools, transfer companies and childcare companies here. There is a plethora of mountain top restaurants and après bars; activities aplenty for non-skiers and skiers alike; and with such varied terrain, all of our French ski resorts are great for both beginners and seasoned pros. They really do have it all.

Méribel
Elegant in its design, delicious food on the menu and in a prime spot for instant access to Trois Vallées, Le Coucou is a firm F&P favourite. Perched on the piste, this is a luxury ski-in, ski-out hotel where you can enjoy a lunchtime drink on the large terrace watching the world go by, or unwind in the beautifully designed spa after a long day on the mountain. The two restaurants, an Italian restaurant and steak restaurant, are both child-friendly, while the relaxing spaces and luxury details, all make Le Coucou a little alpine haven.
Tucked away in the forests of Méribel and only accessible on foot, on touring skis or by collection, this is pure escapism at its finest. Undoubtedly a great location for skiing, don’t discount the other mountain activities available here – dog sledding, snowshoeing, sledging and hot air ballooning to name a few. Here you’ll be served deliciously fresh and local gastronomy, and for an authentic Savoyard experience, ‘Ferme a Fromage’ is a must, just a short walk to the private dining chalet where traditional Raclette and fondue are served.
Val d’Isère
Found at the foot of the Belleyard Olympic and Solaise slopes, Le Yule is arguably in one of the best locations in Val d’Isère for those who want a ski in, ski out hotel. There’s so much thought put into family stays – interconnecting rooms, kids’ menus, après ski activities, a games room and babysitting – but couples and friends will love it here too. The terrace is an excellent lunch spot (you won’t be able to get enough of the mountain views), the spa will be welcoming after a day on the slopes and the French cuisine here is exceptionally good.
An excellent option for families, in the centre of Val d’Isere you’ll find the the elegantly designed Le Blizzard with bags of charm and character and the friendliest of welcomes. Perfectly placed for exploring the town, and with a swimming pool and spa facilities, there’s plenty on offer for skiers and non-skiers alike. The two restaurants will keep you well-fed, championing local and seasonal produce. Suites are generously-sized and babysitting can be arranged for tots while older children love hanging out at the pool table.
Val Thorens
Best for families looking for all the perks of hotel stay (kids club full to the brim with activities, pool and spa facilities) with a touch of luxury right on the piste in Val Thorens, Altapura has everything for a family-friendly ski holiday. Its impressive spa area and the choice of dining are just a couple of the highlights here. Choose from a mountain-style brasserie with classic French cuisine, a fromagerie that’s perfect for our fellow cheese lovers, and the wonderful ‘2 mille 3’ restaurant where your supper is cooked theatrically in front of you!
Don’t be fooled by Le Fitz Roy – it may have the look and feel of an exclusive club but its friendly welcomes, laidback atmosphere and delicious food (there’s an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal produce) make it a favourite with the F&P team. It has direct access to the slopes on the Plein Sud piste and it is exceptionally close to the ski school meeting point making it very popular with families. The sunny south-facing terrace is a great place to get acquainted with their cocktail menu after a long day on the slopes!
Courchevel
With doorstep access to the slope and La Croisette and conveniently located for Courchevel’s upscale boutiques and restaurants, a stay at Hôtel des 3 Vallées is ideal for those who want ski in, ski out accessibility and easy access to everything the resort has to offer. Tuck into Savoyard influenced dishes after a day of skiing, where the ingredients and produce are locally sourced. End the day feeling rejuvenated with a trip to the spa kitted out with a jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna. Best suited for families with older children and couples.
If you’re after a family-friendly foodie haven, then look no further than La Portetta. With an incredible piste-side positioning in the heart of the beautiful Courchevel, be the first on the slopes each day and the meeting point for ski school is just outside which is why it’s so popular with families. At the helm of the restaurant is Michelin-starred Angela Hartnett, so you can expect nothing but culinary delights at this foodie spot. Much loved by everyone at F&P, the service is always slick, atmosphere is most welcoming and the cocktails are incredible.
