No two villas are the same, but they all share the dreamy Ionian view and each one has a private heated pool and some have their own section of the beach. Built in traditional Greek style, filled with bespoke furniture, and have an air of privacy, sitting in gardens full of Mediterranean colour. They range from one, two, three to four bedrooms with no skimping on luxury.
food
The dining at Porto Zante is first class, with seafood fresh from the Ionian and much of the produce from the resort’s own organic gardens, or locally sourced. The Club House Restaurant, with its relaxed beachfront setting, offers a delicious mix of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, whilst the al fresco Maya Restaurant offers Japanese and Thai dishes, with excellent sushi. The hotel operates a twenty-four hour in-villa dining service, with an extensive menu, and served by a butler.
activities
The warm and inviting Ionian waters are ideal for playing in. From the beach, guests can paddleboard, kayak and snorkel. The resort has its own speed boat and yacht, with a range of excursions on offer, from Navagio Beach to the magical Blue Caves, or across to Dafni Beach in search of turtles or a day on Kefalonia. You can even head over to the Peloponnese for a trip to Olympia – the birthplace of the Gods. And if it’s just the two of you, then a private cruise around Zakynthos.
Guests have the use of the courts at the nearby tennis club, and bikes are available with which to explore the island. The island itself has much to see – the interior is spectacularly beautiful with remote mountain villages, monasteries and wonderful viewing points. Visit some of the island’s vineyards (with some obligatory tasting) or experience island life in Zakynthos Town. A Spa treatment shouldn’t be missed – the dreamy over water location is tempting enough, not to mention a team of therapists from around the world with different areas of expertise. Needless to say, the beauty of Porto Zante is that you can do as much or as little as you fancy.
family
Expertly run with plenty of space inside and out, including a well-equipped playground, the kid’s club has a full schedule of fun activities. There’s also a thrilling list of excursions, from the local water park to trips to nearby Marathonisi – turtle island – where they’ll learn all about the Caretta-Caretta turtles. Water sports are a major feature in the programme with and kayaking and snorkelling, whilst on dry land, they can play mini-golf and go pony riding. There are children’s menus available, a babysitting service and a host of toys and games.
