The Bazaruto and Quiribas archipelagos are strung out in the Mozambique channel between the mainland and Madagascar, like pearls. Many of these idyllic islands are home to exclusive, high-end resorts, making them the ultimate off-grid retreat.
Bazaruto Archipelago National Park
This vast marine park protects the five islands in the Bazaruto Archipelago and the numerous species of wildlife therein. Under the surface, there’s an assortment of endangered species, from whale sharks to leatherback turtles and from humpback whales to the very rare dugong.
Diving
Mozambique has one of the longest coastlines on the entire African continent, and the waters off the coast offers some of the most unspoilt diving in the world. Many of the reefs reach great depths, offering a wonderful range of marine life.
Wildlife
For a true wilderness safari experience, the remote and little visited Gorongosa National Park is one of the most unspoilt in Africa. Its rugged landscape is home to lions, hippos, elephants, and lesser-known animals such as pangolin and painted wolves, and its wetlands teem with magnificent birdlife.
