There is a very simple equation to create a truly incredible family holiday: happy children = happy parents = happy holidays!
What better solution for your holidays than to up the ante and opt for one of these extraordinary out-of-this-world kids clubs. These are more than just babysitting services with crayons and TV screens, these are sensory stimulating, educational and above all FUN activities in and around the hotel, leaving children raring to go each day… and adults (almost) wishing they could leap off their sun loungers and be a kid for the day too!
We’ve shared 10 of our favourite Kids Clubs across the Med, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman & South Africa.
Marbella Club – Spain
A kids club to rival most with a whole host of activities from gardening, paddle boarding to cooking. Our favourite? Almost impossible to choose between perfume-making using the garden’s freshly picked herbs and flamenco dancing taught by real deal professionals dressed in their beautifully ruffled and traditional dress.
The Westin Resort Costa Navarino – Peloponnese, Greece
While you relax by azure waters of the Ionian Sea listening to nothing but the lapping of the waves, you will feel miles away from children having the time of their lives at the vibrant kids club on the other side of the resort. Go Karting, bowling and the climbing wall are just some of the activities on offer.
Zighy Bay, Oman
The resort quite simply has everything for everyone and every age. There’s The Chaica’s Club for children aged 4-11 years old while the Al Fateen’s Club arranges all sorts of activities for teens who will feel anything but a teen with grown up adventure hikes, wadi swimming, canyoning, abseiling, body boarding and SUP-ing.
Verdura Resort – Sicily
Only here can you expect star-studded sports camps! Sports fanatics can join the Football Legends Academy led by world-champion Italian footballer Gianluca Zambrotta, be inspired by the likes of Federer and Nadal at the Tennis Academy or work on their swing with world-class Giacomo Dovetta at the Junior Golf Academy.
Shanti Maurice, Mauritius
An enormous area with playgrounds and its own pool, this kids club is not an afterthought! From playground adventures, sensory play and gardening for little ones, pirate fashion and treasure hunting to super cool kayaking, crab football and beach Olympics. It is open until 10pm with popcorn and cinema nights too.
Shamwari Riverdene, South Africa
An intimate 7-lodge camp which truly embraces little ones. Children from the age of four are encouraged to join game drives but when it all gets too much the Kids on Safari Adventure Centre offers a perfect respite (for both children and parents) with climbing walls, ziplines and playgrounds so they can let off steam.
Alila Jabal Al Akhdar, Oman
A stunningly located fortress set high up in the Al Hajar mountains, perfect for adventurous families with a (free) inspirational kids club to match. Think butterfly walks, kite flying, archery and star gazing topped off with enthralling storytelling of Arabic folklore full of mysterious kingdoms, princesses and genies.
Niyama Private Islands, Maldives
The ultimate Robinson Crusoe spot – Nature’s Playground – where little ones are the VIPs! Forest adventures, dolphin spotting, and having fun in the splash park are all great fun. And if we could be a child again? You would find us at “Munch”, the mini gourmet kitchen where kids can learn how to cook (and eat) delicious feasts.
Constance Ephelia, Seychelles
A tropical paradise with the largest kids club in the Seychelles to keep smalls entertained (out of the way?!). Here, children will be encouraged to splash in the pool to their hearts content, career around playing tag and games galore, all topped off with pizza and ice cream making before starting all over again.
Eagles Palace, Greece
An incredible Aqua watersports programme for children aged 5-13 runs from May until the middle of September offering every water sport under the sun – sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, waterskiing, SUP and even diving. All with expertly qualified instructors so you can relax in the knowledge they are being looked after.
