Anantara The Palm – Dubai
On the edge of the upmarket Jumeirah Palm, with views back across the Dubai skyline and the Arabian Gulf, Anantara has created a large dose of Far Eastern luxury. Thai inspired architecture sits around three large lagoons, where market-style boats offer guests fresh fruit and cold towels, and tuk tuks ferry you through lush landscaped gardens to wherever you want to go. Its location gives it a rather secluded feel, whilst the attractions of Dubai are easily reached. The Far East vibes also go as far as the impeccable service, so you may find that you don’t explore very far.

We love the choice of Premier and Deluxe rooms here. Airy and exceptionally spacious, some come with large balconies looking out over the lagoons, whilst others have direct access to the water, furnished with daybeds for some very untaxing downtime. The Family Lagoon Access Room can sleep up to five, with a ladder dropping down into the water. The One and Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas come with a private pool, whilst the One Bedroom Over Water Villas are the only ones you’ll find in the whole of Dubai.
food
There’s almost every flavour in the world here, and you really needn’t venture into the rest of Dubai! Unsurprisingly, there’s a good choice of Asian dining, as well as some excellent Middle Eastern fare. You can travel through the Mediterranean, feasting on Italian to Spanish and Greek to French. There’s casual beach dining to fine dining; private or in-room dining and an equally good selection of bars, including a swim up one in one of the lagoons.
activities
When you’re surrounded by water, expect the water sports on offer to be very good. Off the beach you can enjoy sailing, water skiing and kayaking, as well as some rather more sedate pedallo fun, and not far away is a water park. The resort has a Thai longtail boat which takes guests out for scenic trips and there’s diving on offer at the Reef Oasis Diving Center, with PADI courses for beginners and more advanced divers available.
You’ll find a very well-equipped gym, two tennis courts and a very large Spa with a host of Eastern style treatments and therapies. The surrounding area is full of beach clubs and there’s a lot of retail therapy to be had in the Dubai Marina district. To discover the old charms of Dubai, take a dhow around the waterways, or wander through the souks and markets.
family
For family fly and flop luxury, Anantara The Palm ticks every box. The Tuk Tuk Kid’s Club takes children from three to 13, and has a host of organised activities for all interests, together with a kid’s pool and separate play area. There’s a club for teens too, with foosball, air hockey and billiards. There are children’s menus at all the restaurants, and babysitting can be very easily arranged.
sustainability
Anantara resorts are committed to sustainable luxury tourism, with a number of environmentally friendly practices in place. There is no single use plastic in the entire resort, or single use bathroom products, with water bottled from their own onsite plant. Food waste is composted and all suppliers are strictly monitored for sustainable packaging and practices.
