One of the Caribbean’s lesser known and rarely visited islands in the Leeward chain – it’s perfect if you’re after off the beaten track charm and looking to get away from it all.
Beaches
33 in total, all with bright white powdery sand – spend your days beachcombing to discover your favourite. Shoal Bay East is fringed with reefs; Rendezvous Bay is achingly beautiful, whilst the waters off Meads Bay are perfectly turquoise.
Island Hopping
Six cays surround Anguilla, some of which are uninhabited, others with a good beach bar or two. One even has its own music festival each November. Take a boat from Island Harbour and discover them all.
Wildlife
Both above and below the water. Numerous bird species live on or migrate to Anguilla and the cays, whilst the waters are teeming with turtles, rays and an abundance of aquatic life.
Food
There’s a thriving culinary scene on Anguilla, with beach shacks serving fresh crayfish, to elegant restaurants with French inspired menus, where diners return year after year.
Caribbean charm
With no cruise ships or large scale hotels and no direct flights, Anguilla retains its authenticity and delightful, low key vibe. It’s a place where time goes slowly.
