We believe some destinations are simply meant to be experienced together. Picture the contrasts and connections: the vast landscapes of Australia paired with the modern metropolis of Singapore, or the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka followed by the tranquil luxury of the Maldives. Whether it’s the adventure of a safari in Kenya leading to the white sands of Zanzibar, or the Mediterranean charm of Mallorca paired with Menorca’s laid-back allure, these paired destinations promise an unforgettable holiday. Our Travel Experts love planning itineraries that show the best of each destination, including all that you like to do, and suggesting more ideas or partner destinations on top.
Here’s some food for thought for 2025 – or beyond if you’re thinking of an odyssey of a lifetime.
COSTA RICA AND PANAMA
These neighbouring Central American countries, sandwiched between the Caribbean and the Pacific, are a natural pairing, with an epic road trip between the two, or just a short flight. Discover the vibrant Panama City, with its cobblestoned and labyrinthine colonial heart, buzzing gastronomic scene, truly unique urban national parks and the Panama Canal, considered to be one of the wonders of the modern world.
Then head to the coast to a private island idyll, before exploring the rain and cloud forests, volcanoes, water rapids and beaches of Costa Rica. This tiny nation, has the highest density of biodiversity on the planet. An itinerary combining these countries is a rich and colourful mix of culture, exotic wildlife and adventure – perfect for couples and families alike.
SRI LANKA AND MALDIVES
The culture, architecture and heritage of Sri Lanka, followed by the white sand, palm-tree paradise of the Maldives? One of our favourite pairings and an easy 1.5 hours by plane. We love Sri Lanka for its rich tapestry of culture, it is a colourful country with bustling local markets, incredible cuisine and UNESCO World Heritage Sites from temples to forts not to mention to the wildlife wonders of the National Parks.
While the Maldives is the perfect contrast; a paradisiacal escape with crystal-clear turquoise waters and coral reefs with teeming fish, the chance to snorkel and rejuvenate whilst sipping on cocktails and gazing out across crimson sunsets galore. All of our resorts here are breathtakingly beautiful so will will pair you to your perfect one.
SOUTH AFRICA AND THE SEYCHELLES
The classic safari and beach combination goes one further with this exceptional combination. South Africa not only offers incredible game viewing opportunities, in some of the most luxurious settings imaginable, but also offers the opportunity to explore Cape Town, which deserves at least a couple of days to explore. Venture into the winelands, or drive the Garden Route, both of which reveal some of southern Africa’s most beautiful scenery, as well as some of the finest boutique properties we know.
Round it all off with a week of relaxation and first class pampering on the Seychelles archipelago, in the Indian Ocean. One of the world’s best diving spots, the islands also know how to do luxury. Very well. And as for the beaches…
CROATIA AND MONTENEGRO
This part of the Balkans and Adriatic boasts not only a stunning coastline, peppered with pine clad islands and fringed with idyllic waters, but also an interior so dramatic and packed with national parks, that UNESCO has designated 14 sites between the two countries, with another six in consideration. It’s a region rich in culture and history – evident from the Medieval, Ottoman and Venetian towns, villages and fortresses dotted in the mountains and along the coast.
Croatia is renowned for its pristine beaches and charm, and one of Europe’s hidden gems, Montenegro is where you can enjoy modern luxury whilst stepping back in time. It is also so easy to travel between the two countries. An itinerary here could include a week on a chartered yacht, sailing out of Split and around the islands of Hvar, Brac and Korcula, followed by a few days of culture, based in our favourite village of Perast in Montenegro.
AUSTRALIA AND SINGAPORE
If time is on your side, then it’s time to consider a long-haul journey that blends the wonders of the antipodes with the dynamic charm of Southeast Asia. Australia and Singapore promise a captivating mix of epic landscapes, cosmopolitan cities, and unforgettable experiences. From the rugged outback to the Great Barrier Reef, and from Sydney’s iconic harbour to Melbourne’s vibrant art scene, Australia is a land of breathtaking contrasts and endless adventure.
Pair this with Singapore, a sleek and modern metropolis where lush gardens meet futuristic architecture, and where a vibrant culinary scene celebrates global flavours. Stroll through the Marina Bay Sands precinct, explore the diverse neighbourhoods of Little India and Chinatown, or sip a Singapore Sling overlooking the city skyline. Whether your trip calls for exhilarating adventures, cultural explorations, or indulgent relaxation, we can craft an itinerary that brings out the best of both destinations.
MALLORCA AND MENORCA
Both enchanting Balearic Islands yet each with their own distinctive characters, landscapes and culture. Mallorca, the larger of the two islands is sophisticated with the vibrant and cosmopolitan Palma at its heart, a place where gothic cathedrals and medieval castles juxtapose with the super cool and trendy. Beyond city life is a tapestry of olive groves and citrus orchards and the dramatic Tramuntana mountains offer spectacular hiking. All topped off with some of the best restaurants in the Med. Stay at Sant Francesc in Palma old town or Can Simoneta for coastal chic.
Meanwhile, a short ferry ride away you will find Mallorca’s little sister, Menorca; charming and understated, slower, laidback and effortlessly cool. White sandy beaches, pine fringed rocky “calas”, deserted coves and spectacular coastlines, this is a place for kicking back and relaxing. We love the many paths and trails crisscrossing the island and the UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve where you can explore unspoilt landscapes. Son Vell is our latest love in Menorca.
KENYA AND ZANZIBAR
The plains of the Masai Mara and the white beaches of Zanzibar never fail to be a winning combination. But where to start? The Swahili word safari means journey, and the choice of destinations in the game rich country of Kenya is exceptional, as are the very luxurious beach resorts of the Spice Island just off the coast of Tanzania. Each safari lodge and tented camp promises unique wildlife experiences, and any itinerary can include one or more. Some are more suited to couples, whilst others offer memorable experiences for families, with flights or extended game drives between destinations. Then trade the adventure and majesty of the plains for the exoticism of the beach and the mesmerising waters of the Indian Ocean. This former trading post is not only rich in culture, but has some of the best marine life in the Indian Ocean.
SARDINIA AND CORSICA
Whilst you can see one island from the other (standing in the north of Sardinia, or the south of Corsica), these two Mediterranean islands could not be more different. Well, ok… they both have dreamy beaches, turquoise waters and an incredible gastronomic heritage, but they have very diverse characters and landscapes.
The French island of Corsica is famed for its rocky interior and rustic charm, and stunning coastline, whilst its Italian neighbour seduces with its chic and relaxed lifestyle and impossibly beautiful waters. And they’re just less than an hour apart across the Strait of Bonifacio. From sailing to beaches accessible only by boat, to horse riding through the maquis, from swimming in remote rock pools to soaking up the sophisticated island restaurant scene, we can create an itinerary that includes the best parts of both islands.
DUBAI AND OMAN
A dazzling metropolis, Dubai stands as a testament to modernity, opulence and innovation, its iconic skyline and cutting-edge architecture set against the desert backdrop. Dubai is a fast paced playground with an incredible restaurant scene, theme parks galore and glamorous beach clubs. All our hotels here are destinations in themselves.
Pair this with the slower paced unspoilt beauty of Oman. Just an hour’s flight away, here it is not about the glitz and glam of Dubai but colourful traditions and mystiques of old – ancient hilltop citadels, bustling souqs and grand mosques. Head to one of the incredible hotels on the pristine coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman – what about The Chedi Muscat on its own private beach or Six Senses Zighy Bay for activities galore.
