The stunning scenery of Ha Long Bay is world famous; the views from the rolling hills and mountains in the north are truly captivating, whilst the historic towns and cities promise immeasurable atmosphere and colour. Its history is no less extraordinary, and a visit to some of the country’s many museums is highly recommended.
Ancient and modern sit comfortably next to each other, especially in the cities, where you’ll also find beautifully tended parks and gardens, exotic temples and bustling markets. Rural Vietnam is no less beguiling. You’ll glimpse the lives of hill tribes and tiny farming communities working the paddy fields in the same way as their ancestors once did.
