Hôtel des 3 Vallées – Courchevel, France
Originally built in the 1950’s for the resort workers of the nascent resort of Courchevel, the Hotel des 3 Vallées (or 3VL) has been given a luxuriously modern makeover that reflects its history and even uses much of its original furniture. Traditionally Alpine on the outside, this hotel is one for design lovers and those seeking the unusual. You can ski right to the door and its location in the centre of Courchevel 1850, just above La Croisette and close to the restaurants and bars is an added bonus.
We love the atmosphere of this hotel and the friendliness of all the staff, especially those in the ski shop. And our favourite touch is the hotel’s very own épicerie.

The nostalgic look and feel is evident in all the rooms and suites, with original pieces in each one. They all have balconies and you can choose from a view over the village or the pistes. The Confort Rooms are spacious and snuggly – who can’t resist sinking onto a furry throw? The Privilege Rooms are larger and can take an extra child (under sixteen). These rooms interconnect with the Confort Rooms for families. Or take the enormous chalet style Suite at the top of the hotel, with its own private terrace. Each room and suite has a minibar, Nespresso coffee machine and TV.
food
Hearty Savoyard influenced dishes, given a refined twist. All the ingredients and produce are locally sourced and seasonal. Make sure you save some room for cheese – they are very good!
activities
The Spa here is exceptionally relaxing. Open from ten am to eight pm, there’s a Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna for a bit of rejuvenation after a day on the slopes. Children are also welcome for treatments thanks to Nougatine brand.
There are plenty of activities for both skiers and non-skiers on offer including; Skiing, Snowboarding, Ski Touring, Dog Sledding, Snow Shoeing, Snow Cat Driving, Snowmobile Driving, Sledging, Yoga, Pilates, Walking, Ice Climbing, Paragliding, Fat Biking, Horse Riding, Swimming or Spa, Hot Air Balloon Riding, and Helicopter Rides.
