Just in case you need a little travel inspiration – especially whilst our summer is only just making an appearance– we’ve collated the destinations from the world that are currently most popular with our guests and team. Some have spectacular wildlife whilst others have idyllic beaches. Many of them have incredible food or eye-popping landscapes. Most importantly, they nearly all guarantee sun!

WHEN TO GO

During the dry season between November and April, when the temperatures are just right for exploring cultural sites or cities, and perfect for enjoying the very gorgeous beaches.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Hands down – it’s the food! Deliciously spicy and colourful, with Spanish influences, it’s no surprise Mexican cuisine is popular everywhere.

WHAT TO DO

Trek the jungles; be in awe of the Mayan pyramids; immerse yourself in the festivals; go deep down into the ‘cenotes’, or catch up on some R&R under a palm.

WHEN TO GO

It all depends on what you want to see. For seeing the best wildlife, we’d recommend between July to October and December to mid-February. In the southern Serengeti, between January and February, the wildebeest and zebra are calving, meaning superb game viewing.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Nothing quite beats being out on the savannah under one of Africa’s biggest skies. Except perhaps, a dawn safari to the sound of everything waking up.

WHAT TO DO

Head west to Lake Tanganyika to meet chimpanzees; track lions with an expert guide; fly camp under the stars, then reminisce about it all on a beach in Zanzibar.

WHEN TO GO

To avoid the desert heat, October through to April is the best time to visit.

WHY WE LOVE IT

The rugged beauty of the Hajar Mountains and the rolling dunes of the Wahiba Sands just keep us wanting to return.

WHAT TO DO

Mix your stay up with the mosques and souks of Muscat and Nizwa, some mountain trekking, snorkelling off the Damaniyat Islands, and maybe arriving at your seriously luxurious hotel by parapet.

WHEN TO GO?

Between December and April, when the dry season climate is just right for seeing wildlife, exploring the rainforests and enjoying the beaches. During the green season, between May and November, you’ll find fewer tourists and lush landscapes.

WHY WE LOVE IT 

Anywhere with incredible wildlife is always at the top of our list. And Costa Rica boasts more than almost any other country on the entire planet.

WHAT TO DO 

Night trek through the rainforest; birdwatch in the cloudforest; zipline through the canopy; surf; white water raft, and fall in love with sloths.

WHEN TO GO

For warm Mediterranean weather and fewer crowds, it’s best to visit between April and June, and September and October.

WHY WE LOVE IT 

Of course we’re going to say the food! But don’t forget that Italy produces some of the best wines in the world – much of which they don’t export because they’re too good to share.

WHAT TO DO

Visit Europe’s finest art galleries, spend sunny afternoons in hilltop villages; cruise a great lake; climb an Alp or lunch at a beach club and live la dolce vita.

The perfect antidote to the British winter, head for the sun here between December and April.

WHY WE LOVE IT

This is the island that combines contagious Caribbean laidback vibes and an almost limitless list of activities.

WHAT TO DO

Climb a Piton; learn to water ski; delve deep into the rainforest; visit a drive-in volcano; get close up to turtles and rays on the reefs; explore the myriad reserves and national parks, or just reset on a perfect beach.

For perfect temperatures and beach time, November to April is the best time to travel.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Each atoll and island offers something completely different, but wherever you choose, the luxury is seriously top notch.

Gaze out from your overwater villa, and wonder about the colour of the ocean; dive the teeming reefs; feel the sand between your toes, and pinch yourself that this is actually real.

For pleasant desert, mountain and city temperatures, March to May, and September to November are great times to visit.

WHY WE LOVE IT 

It’s just a short flight away, but Morocco serves up exotic and colourful culture, transporting you to an entirely different world.

WHAT TO DO

Wander the souks in the morning, trek the Atlas mountains or Sahara desert in the afternoon, and sleep Berber style at night; surf Atlantic waves; learn to make a tagine and explore film set cities and landscapes.

The temperatures are generally cooler between October and March, making it the ideal time to visit the many incredible places from Rajasthan to Kerala.

Track tigers in Ranthambore; enjoy colonial style luxury in a hill station; experience centuries old traditions along mystical waterways, or take a spectacular train journey between the cities of the Golden Triangle.

WHEN TO GO

The geography of this island means the monsoon season varies, so plan your trip accordingly. For the south and west coasts and the hill country, travel between September and March. For the beautiful east coast, April to September is best.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Sri Lanka has it all. It’s a cultural melting pot, with ancient sites and incredible food; the beaches are stunning and the people are hugely welcoming.

 WHAT TO DO

Visit temples; meet elephants close up on safari; experience one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys; learn to cook traditional dishes and relax in boutique luxury.
