While we know that many of you have checked into summer mode (it would be nice if the UK weather could do the same!) we know that a lot of you are also planning ahead, making sure you have lots to look forward to over the colder months. With airline sales currently on and peak weeks already getting full, there is no time like the present to secure your winter sunshine or tailor-made adventure.
Not sure where to go when? Whether you’re travelling as a family during the school holidays or have the luxury of going anytime, we have listed three of our favourite destinations to head to each month.
OCTOBER
October is the perfect time to discover Kenya, a land so rich in history, culture, wildlife and wilderness. October is in their dry season so the weather is ideal for wildlife viewing. Not only this but if you want a trip to the Kenyan coast the Indian Ocean is said to be at its clearest. From the stunning beaches of Diani to the cultural richness of Nairobi, Kenya offers a luxurious and unforgettable adventure.
Full of bedazzlingly colourful ancient cities, stunning scenery, lively souks and mouthwatering food, Morocco is an intoxicating destination that’s as popular with children as it adults. In October the weather is warm but pleasant, unlike the scorching heat of summer or the cold temperatures in winter. If visiting the The High Atlas Mountains is on your list October is the perfect time to tick this off.
While Portugal’s secluded beaches, rolling countryside and medieval towns may be enough to draw you there, if you love food and wine, you will be in heaven visiting here in October. It is wine harvest time in the Douro Valley and the vineyards look even more stunning in Autumnal colours. Visitors can help with the harvest, learn about wine-making and of course enjoy wine tastings. The weather is also perfect in October for a city break to Lisbon or Porto, or relaxing on the beaches in the Algarve.
The Middle East is great for those seeking guaranteed sunshine at almost any time of year. However, temperatures in November are truly idyllic. Whether you would like to visit Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Oman, they are each a delight for your senses with so much to see, do and discover. Here, you’ll find the perfect blend of rich history and modern luxuries. From ancient realms and lost cities to towering skyscrapers and private pools. With its rich history, culture and varying landscapes, the Middle East is a destination like no other. Explore bustling souqs and grand mosques, visit the world’s largest shopping malls, explore vast desert dunes, zipline across mountains, relax on the beach, eat like kings and float in the healing waters of the Dead Sea.
November is an excellent time to visit Bali. Falling between the wet and dry seasons, it offers the best of both worlds. The rainy season begins, but showers are usually short and nights are cooler. The lush, rain-kissed landscapes are stunning and vibrant, making it perfect for nature enthusiasts. The sunsets remain stunning, the picture perfect beaches are relatively quiet at this time of year and the surfing spots are in full swing.
The Seychelles are nothing short of paradise. Full of jaw dropping natural splendour, they are lush and mountainous, with swaying palm forests, picture perfect beaches, waters so unimaginably turquoise, and reefs and atolls teeming with marine life. The Seychelles are an amazing holiday destination in November. The weather is unbeatable, it is less windy and it is when the Hawksbill turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs.
This winter wonderland is potentially the most magical place in the world at this time of year. The forests are cloaked in snow, reindeer roam the wilderness and people traverse the snow on husky-drawn sledges. Now is the time to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights, meet Father Christmas and take part in thrilling winter experiences.
Mexico is a country of many colours and flavours – it really does have something for everyone. Landscapes, history, vibrant cities, stunning beaches, rainforest and incredible food – it’s a veritable treasure trove of a destination. It’s a country for nature lovers, art enthusiasts, sun worshippers, couples and families. In December you can expect warm sunny days, low humidity and mild evenings. So no matter what type of holiday you’re after, Mexico will offer the perfect one for you.
Sri Lanka is a bountiful and colourful island – rich in culture, surrounded by a stunning coastline and with an interior as varied as it is beautiful. And populated by the warmest people you can imagine. December is a great time to visit the beaches on the South and West Coasts of the country where it is the start of the dry season so the weather is beautiful and it marks the beginning of whale-watching season.
December to April is Antigua’s high season and the coolest, driest time of year making January the perfect time to visit for some winter sun. Antigua is one of our favourites and possibly the friendliest island in the Caribbean. For the’ floppers’ the 365 beaches will keep you busy… literally all year… but beyond beach life this is an island layered with fascinating history and heritage, not to mention hiking and ziplining in lush rainforests and some of the best sailing.
Méribel is hard to beat as a skiing destination and if you are not tied to school holidays January is an excellent time visit. The snow is usually at its fluffiest, the resort is buzzing, the pistes are quieter and the prices are cheaper. With virtually no lift queues during this time of year you can really make the most of the incredible Three Valley ski terrain. Stay in an F&P catered or serviced chalet for an expert, truly personal, tailored, foodie and luxury chalet experience like no other.
Tenerife is a short flight away but will transport you to warmer climes. Tenerife has shaken off its party reputation and is now thriving. With its diverse landscape and mild climate. It’s home to Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain, as well as rugged coastlines in the north of the island, lush forestations and beautiful valley. By day, soak in the rays and the views on one of the island’s many beaches, take a close-up look of the marine life with whale or dolphin watching, and try your hand at some watersports. By night, find a favourable spot on one of the peaks of island to enjoy a spot of stargazing.

February is considered one of the hottest months in the Cape which is perfect for time spent on the coast and it is also one of the best times to visit the Cape Winelands.
Costa Rica is an exhilarating destination that will have you exploring rainforests, traversing volcanoes, rafting rivers and trekking wildlife. Each national park is vastly different to the next, covering coastline, volcanoes and rainforest, and each one teems with extraordinary wildlife. Its dry season runs from December to April, making February the perfect time to visit and you have a chance in seeing pods of humpback whales. Costa Rica is ideal for those looking for a wildlife filled, active and exploratory holiday.
Skiers who’ve experienced the slopes of Italy, rarely go elsewhere. The food is exceptional, The Dolomites are arguably one of the most picture perfect locations imaginable, the resorts are great value, and every type of skier is well catered for. We work with some fantastic hotels here, perfect for a romantic escape over Valentines or a family break over February half term.
