This vast region takes in swathes of the Pacific Ocean, with the Indian Ocean embracing the western fringes. Australia is the undisputed dominance, with New Zealand a very close second, then tropical islands and atolls with evocative names, strung out far into the turquoise blue. Exotic beaches lined with swaying palms; indigenous culture; vibrant cosmopolitan cities, volcanoes; glaciers and deserts – you’ll find it all here.
And, it goes without saying, a trip here requires a good deal of planning, and not a little time. Mix thrill seeking with wineland tours; dive some of the best reefs in the world, then take in the sights on a road trip; fly over snowcapped peaks in the morning and jungle trek in the afternoon. The itineraries are as varied as they are exhilarating.
