Heritage Grand Perast – Montenegro
Formerly a palace dating from the 18th century, and now a five star retreat, the Heritage Grand Perast embodies the rich culture and history of its majestic surroundings. Its Bay of Kotor location can only be described as prime, with its pool appearing as an extension of the bay itself and private beach club looking out over the tiny islets of St George and Our Lady of the Rocks.
On the outside, the medieval town of Perast is lined with baroque houses, churches and atmospheric piazzas, whilst on the inside, you’ll find refined décor reflecting the town’s history and charm. With restaurants looking out over the water; a pampering Spa and hugely attentive service, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy some Montenegrin living.

activities
If you can peel yourself away from the private beach club, there is much to explore in Perast and further afield. The Ottomans, Venetians and the Austro-Hungarian Empire have all left their imprint on this tiny, but spectacularly beautiful town. Wander through the streets, visit the churches and the many museums. The equally fascinating town of Kotor is a short distance away and can easily fill half a day. The hotel concierge service can organise private guides for tours and excursions.
Take a boat out into the bay, and visit the islets and coastline, or head inland to Lovcen National Park for some hiking and to see the old capital of Cetinje. The scenery of Durmitor National Park is unspoilt and stunning, whilst the wetlands around Lake Skadar (the largest in the Balkans) is an important habitat for birds, with birdwatchers coming from around the world to witness them.
family
There are multiple room options for families – cots can easily be arranged, and the restaurants have kids menus. Whilst there are no specific facilities, the hotel welcomes families with open arms.
