rooms

Full of Alpine charm, from floors and walls made from local wood, to wool rugs, hand carved furniture and family heirloom ceramics, the rooms and suites ooze character. Most have views over the peaks; some come with stoves, and others come with balconies. And all are comfortable, mountain havens. The Singola rooms are the perfect retreat for one, whilst the Comfort Rooms were amongst the first to be built, and still retain some of  the original stuben ceilings, and feature plenty of living space.

The Comfort Panorama Rooms can accommodate up to three guests, boasting beautiful mountain and meadow views. The spacious Comfort Dolomites share this vista, and live up to their name. The large Romantik Rooms style themselves as “homey” and come with or without a balcony. For a view, the Romantik Panorama, look out over the Sassongher and the Sella Massif, and can sleep up to three guests. For a couple, the Romantik Dolomites promises the perfect stay, with their spacious living and delightful views. Families love the Suite Panorama, which is exceptionally spacious and can sleep four. Tucked into the eaves, it’s beautifully styled. Or go for the slightly larger Suite Alpina, with its cosy traditional décor. For larger families, the Suite La Perla Dolomites sleeps up to six guests and even comes with a Turkish bath.

food

Food is a very important part of the Ladin culture, and it’s certainly celebrated here. You’ll never want to miss breakfast – a mouthwatering and abundant choice of fresh pastries, homemade jams, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats. Eggs can be cooked anyway you like, and crepes are made to order. If you’re after a light lunch, the Bistrot is a cosy and informal place to be, serving Italian classics.

Les Stües is a beautifully styled Ladin restaurant, serving traditional Tyrolean dishes, whilst situated separately in the village, is Ladinia that pays homage to local ingredients and regional wines. For atmosphere, La Stüa de Michil is hard to beat – low wooden ceilings, intimate table settings and an exceptional menu created by Simone Cantafio, have all led to a Michelin star.

activities

The Dolomites are quite literally on the doorstep of La Perla, with its ski in, ski out location. Skiers of all levels can enjoy the Dolomiti Superski region and ski tour the Sellaronda from Corvara. Couple this with countless cross country ski and snowshoeing trails, and the it’s little wonder why this a favourite area for many. The village has good ski schools and guides can easily be hired for the day or week. And ending each day at L’Murin for some après, is a must.

During the summer months, the region is a haven for cyclists and hikers – the alte vie offer some of the most incredible scenery you’ll find. There’s a golf course at 1700m, and there’s nowhere more beautiful for a picnic. Back at La Perla, there are immersive cookery sessions where guests can observe the preparation of dinner that evening, with a talk. Wine tastings are popular, and don’t miss a tour of the cellar. Failing that, opt for the Spa – a traditionally built sanctuary where you can relax after a day in the mountains.
