food
Lefay Garda celebrates the Mediterranean diet, with most produce coming from local farms, with olive oil from the trees in the grounds, citrus fruit from the lake shore and foraged herbs. Seasonal ingredients are created into light, delicious and healthy cuisine and served in two restaurants and at the pool bar. La Limonaia has a menu dedicated to Italian classics served with a twist, all with magnificent views of Garda.
At Gramen, the menu is meat and dairy-free, showcasing local plant-based ingredients – resulting in delicious and colourful plates.
activities
The Spa, is naturally, the crowning glory and the heart of the resort. Indeed, it is a veritable sanctuary. The Lefay Spa team have created an innovative wellness method, combining classical Chinese medicine with Western scientific research. Individual health programmes are devised for each guest, with a holistic approach to both mental and physical wellbeing.
There’s a long list of signature treatments, together with a hammam, multiple relaxation areas, outdoor treatment gazebos, saunas of varying temperatures, a gym and a fitness studio, it’s little wonder that the Spa is the recipient of many awards. In the grounds, there’s a running circuit and a fitness trail with different stations for different exercises, together with a therapeutic energy garden. If you step out of the grounds, Lake Garda and its environs offer a wealth of activities. You can play at the Gardagolf Country Club, enjoying 27 holes with a view. The lake is host to regular regattas, and guests have the opportunity to have private lessons at the Vela Gargnano. Mountain biking, walking, horse riding, wine tasting.
family
With family suites available, children are most welcome and are catered for beautifully. As well as a children’s menu in the restaurant, there’s a children’s Spa menu. And for parents who’d like to enjoy the full Spa experience, they’re looked after at the kid’s club. For entertainment further afield, take them to nearby Peschiera, one of the best amusement parks in Italy.
sustainability
Lefay Resorts take its social and environmental responsibilities very seriously – Garda has its very own “Green Book” detailing its efforts and commitment. The area is host to wonderfully varied biodiversity in both flora and fauna. Respectful of its location in a protected nature park, Garda blends in architecturally with its surroundings. It is built into the hillside with thick vegetation on the roofs, thus reducing energy usage and allowing for thermos-insulation.
The resort uses renewable energy provided by its own biomass plant, whilst photovoltaic panels use solar energy. Water usage is carefully maintained, with a rainwater collection facility and there is a dedicated recycling programme, with biodegradable products used wherever possible and no single-use plastics. Natural materials have been used throughout, and wherever possible, from local sources, such as Verona marble.
