Santorini Mozambique – Kingfisher Bay, Mozambique
An exotic blend of Cycladic architecture with intricately carved east African design elements, Santorini Mozambique is an unusual and individual boutique sanctuary. The white-washed villas and blue domed roofs are a striking contrast to the red sand cliffs of Kingfisher Bay, with breathtakingly beautiful views out over the azure ocean towards the Bazaruto Archipelago. Every level of detail has been carefully thought of and the team here are called a family, giving guests the most attentive service imaginable.
This unspoilt stretch of coast and the sanctuary that is Santorini are the perfect place for exploring the islands offshore or for some beach time after a safari.

food
Dining at Santorini Mozambique is a truly sensational experience. With fresh ingredients from the sea and the lodge’s own vegetable and herb garden, the chefs create delicious and different menus each day. Healthy breakfasts with homemade granola and tropical fruit, three course lunches and four course dinners are packed with flavour. The house specialty is meze, there are regular barbecues and even pizza nights. Dine in your suite, al fresco under the stars or on the beach. And it’s all accompanied by a very extensive wine list.
activities
The waters of the Mozambique Channel and the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park are a diver’s paradise. It is one of the largest marine conservation areas in the Indian Ocean, a World Heritage Site and the visibility is remarkable. From pristine coral to endangered dugongs, whale sharks, spotted eagle rays and humpback whales – the waters are teeming. The PADI certified dive centre here caters for all abilities – from beginners to experts.
If you want to explore the islands, Santorini has its own Supercat that’ll take you out for the day with a skipper, a picnic lunch and snorkels. The fishing in these waters is also spectacular, with the chance of catching king fish, tuna and wahoo – and the fishing boats are all equipped with fighting chairs and outriggers. For a more leisurely time on the water, head out for a sunset cruise on the lodge’s dhow with drinks and canapés. Just up the coast there are riding stables, and guests of all abilities can ride along the beach and in the surf or go on a village safari. One of the best ways to see the Archipelago is from a helicopter, and the team at Santorini can organise a flight where you’ll pass over the islands and reefs, witnessing the stunning beauty of this little part of the Indian Ocean.
family
The two and three bedroom villas are ideal for families, and come with their own hosts, a chef and pool. There are all kinds of activities that will keep children occupied from morning ‘til night, and the villas are full of board games. Cots are provided for babies and babysitting can also be arranged.
