Our favourite restaurants in the Three Valleys
For most of us, a skiing holiday isn’t complete without good food in the chalet and out on the slopes. We don’t believe that expensive food is necessarily good food. There is only one condition in our eyes, and that is quality.
As food lovers, over the past 15 years we have just about managed to eat our way round most of the restaurants the 3 Valleys has to offer, and it offers a lot! We have carefully selected the variety of restaurants below to save you the trouble of trial and error, as we’re sure you are aware this can be a rather expensive and often disappointing exercise in the Three Valleys.
We have dedicated time and effort in personally researching these recommendations, purely for your benefit of course! For those that we can’t recommend personally we have based our research on having a fantastic reputation.
We would advise booking restaurants for lunch especially at peak time and the chalet night off in advance. If you would like your Resort Manager to book a restaurant for you or you would like any advice, then please call or ask your host or chef.
Do remember that lots of the most popular restaurant run two sittings at lunch and on Wednesday evenings – 12.30 or 2pm, and then 7pm or 9pm – it’s worth thinking about which sitting you prefer before booking.
NOT TO BE MISSED
ADRAY TELEBAR, MÉRIBEL is an institution and a traditional French restaurant for a cake and hot chocolate pit stop. You can get a huge wedge of cake and a jug of hot chocolate by the fire!
LA FERMES DE REBERTY, LES MENUIRES for lunch on a sunny day. Sit on the huge terrace, bask in the sunshine, and eat from their vast, yummy and ridiculously good value menu.
LE MONTAGNARD, ST MARTIN for a cosy, indoor lunch on a snowy, cold day. Delightful, charming and rustic, this family-run restaurant serves great Alpine food at reasonable prices.
LA BOUITTE, ST MARTIN for a Michelin Star dining experience that rivals most. In the picturesque village of St Marcel, you adventure there off piste if the snow is good otherwise a mini bus can pick you up from Saint Martin.
CAVE DES CREUX, COURCHEVEL for amazing views of Mont Blanc and large south facing sun terrace. A go to for anyone wanting great service, contemporary food and a bustling hub.
CLOS BERNARD, MÉRIBEL ALTIPORT is really accessible for skiers and non-skiers and, nestled in the trees, feels like a real adventure getting there so is a must even just for a drink.
LA FOLIE DOUCE will once again open its doors on the MÉRIBEL slopes this winter for some piste side partying, great food at La Fruitière and their other restaurants – not to be missed – particularly the ski afterwards back down to your chalet.

Many of these restaurants are accessible for pedestrians – either join the rest of your group for a mountain lunch, or use our driver service or local taxi to reach the other valleys. We’ve put together this key to help you decide. For instructions on how to find each of these restaurants on foot just ask your Resort Manager.

Our team will have been in touch with you regarding booking restaurants for your stay in Meribel. We definitely recommend booking restaurants in advance to ensure the best spot and to avoid disappointment as they can get very busy. Some restaurants require credit card details to secure a booking – we have marked these restaurants with a {4}. Please note we are unable to book these restaurants on your behalf.

You can’t beat a good lunch on the mountain be it a picnic, a long boozy lunch, a fleeting snack to fuel you for a full day’s skiing, or simply a mountain spag bol!

Angela Hartnett has taken on the restaurant at this lovely hotel in Courchevel 1650. Sit on the terrace and soak up the sunshine and terrific views or cosy up in the restaurant and enjoy some Savoyard food with an Italian twist. The perfect spot for lunch in the sunshine, with some pretty amazing food to boot!
LA FRUITIERE, SAULIRE EXPRESS MID-STATION MÉRIBEL – +33 (0) 4 79 00 58 31 {1}{2}
Do you like to party? Then this is the place for you! With daily cabaret shows and a party on the piste that keeps going until the last lifts, La Fruitiere is a great place to start your après-ski fun. Tables outside are the ones to go for, especially on a sunny day for a front row seat to the show! The food is very good and we think definitely worth the extra few Euros. Even better are the magnums of rosé to wash it all down with!

Located at the top of Le Lapin run to Méribel Village, Le Blanchot is a pretty chalet-style restaurant with a great sun terrace. It serves elegant French food and is a great lunch spot for beginners.

3 Michelin star restaurant in the picturesque village of St Martin de Belleville – this is mountain dining at its best – but your wallet may be slightly lighter when you leave! While away an afternoon and indulge in some of the finest food out there. Ideal for bad weather days!
LA SOUCOUPE, COUCHEVEL /LA TANIA – +33 (0) 4 79 08 21 34
Great for an indulgent lunch with a superb view down the Courchevel Valley. Alternatively makes a great bolt hole in bad weather conditions with a roaring fire and a cracking wine list. It is Courchevel though so prepare yourself for the bill!
CAP HORN, COURCHEVEL 1850 – +33 (0) 4 79 08 33 10 {3}
Located at the bottom of the Suisse piste, this restaurant certainly has a reputation as the ‘place to be’ in Courchevel. It’s a popular place for a long lunch, often somewhat debaucherous, with the DJ playing in the piste-basher on the terrace and scantily-clad singers parading up and down. It’s definitely worth a visit even just for a hot chocolate (again, watch out for prices) or a spot of people- watching. However, be aware that quality of food and service is often inconsistent.
LE CHALET DE PIERRES, COURCHEVEL 1850 – +33 (0) 4 79 08 18 61
Another ‘place to be seen’ in Courchevel, this is a huge chalet with a vast terrace in a sun-trap on the edge of the Verdons piste. The food is good, but the prices are steep and service can be a little hit and miss. However, if you’re prepared to splash out then the sushi platter is well worth it, and if you want entertainment whilst eating, you’ll certainly get it here.

This is an absolutely cracking spot for a destination lunch! This is a must-visit if you are venturing to the Val Thorens valley and love a long lunch on a glorious terrace with stunning views. The menu offers a wide range of dishes from Savoie to beautiful salads. It is ever increasing in popularity so booking is essential.

Perched at 1,425 metres in the LODJI Hotel, Au Torè restaurant offers incredible views over Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. Under the guidance of Chef Jean-Sébastien Prijot, guests are welcomed to enjoy lunch or dinner in a laid-back, family-friendly setting. Whether you choose to dine by the inviting fireplace or on the sun-drenched southwest-facing terrace, the stunning mountain vistas make for a memorable experience.

Bagatelle Courchevel, located on the slopes of the 3 Valleys near the Chenus cable car, offers an exceptional dining experience with spectacular views. The restaurant features a spacious 500 m² panoramic terrace, elegant design, and large bay windows that fill the space with natural light and highlight the snow-capped mountain scenery. Guests can enjoy fine cuisine by acclaimed chefs Rocco Seminara, Bagatelle Group’s Corporate Chef, and Jules Pronost, the restaurant’s Executive Chef.

Located in the Courchevel 1650 ski area at the base of the Signal chairlift, La Casserole welcomes you for lunch. With offerings like grilled meats, seven-hour lamb, whole farm chicken, and a buffet of homemade desserts, even the most discerning gourmets will be delighted. The chef presents a menu of simple yet refined cuisine, served either by a cosy, roaring fire or on our sunny south-facing terrace.

This high-altitude bistro in the 3 Valleys offers a menu of fresh, passionately prepared dishes by the chef, scenic lounge areas for relaxation, and homemade pastries at La Fabrik à Dessert. For a unique evening, join the weekly Savoyard night on Tuesdays, arriving by snow groomer, or celebrate New Year’s and Christmas Eve with magical festive events.
LE BOUCHE À OREILLE, TOP OF ROC DES 3 MARCHES, LES MENUIRES – +33 (0) 4 79 00 46 48 {1} {3}
The Three Michelin star chefs from La Bouitte, René and Maxime Meilleur, opened a new gourmet bistro in 2019. Located at the top of the Roc des 3 Marches, at 2700 m altitude, the restaurant. The alpine design dining room seats 170 people and a large terrace on 2 levels seats a further 250 while offering superb 360 panoramic views. There is also a “Ski Thru” hatch on the piste under the main terrace.
MAYA ALTITUDE, MÉRIBEL TOUGNÈTE– + 33 (0) 4 58 24 07 07
Perched at the top of the Tougnète chairlift, Maya Altitude has a vast terrace offering a 360-degree view of the Belleville Valley and Mont Blanc. With a focus on Savoyard specialities, you can choose between the charcoal grill or the Tandoor oven, unheard of on snowy slopes and at this altitude.
LES VERDONS, COURCHEVEL 1850 – +33 (0) 4 79 04 07 07 {1}
Situated right in the middle of Courchevel ski domain, Les Verdons makes a perfect meeting point for skier and non-skiers a like, as it is accessible from two of the main lifts. Here you have the best of both worlds and a choice between a buffet or an à la carte menu. This is also a convenient place to stop for a quick bite or coffee on a sunny day before exploring the rest of the 3 Valleys.
BEEF & LOBSTER, VAL THORENS – +33 (0) 4 79 08 50 21 {3}
Situated right at the entrance of Val Thorens resort, the Beef & Lobster restaurant at Hameau du Kashmir offers a fantastic setting. With its sun-soaked terrace, ski-in access via the Cairn slope, and a cozy vibe inside, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. In the kitchen, chef Milan Lam and his team are ready to delight your taste buds with delicious bistronomic dishes, all homemade using fresh, high-quality ingredients that showcase local producers.

Situated at 2,300 metres on the slopes, Roc Seven is the highest Italian restaurant in the 3 Valleys, featuring a unique design blending natural and botanical elements, crafted by Véronique Vidoni. The restaurant’s concept revolves around three key themes: Italian, friendly, and festive. Every afternoon from 2:00 p.m., DJs and live performers bring the atmosphere to life—where guests can eat, drink, and dance.

Located at the entrance to Val Thorens, in the 4-star residence l’Oxalys, Il Gusto offers a warm and inviting dining experience. With a cosy atmosphere, Il Gusto invites guests to enjoy a unique fusion of Japanese-inspired dishes alongside traditional regional fare. The carefully prepared dishes, rich in colour and flavour, make for a delightful experience of conviviality and shared moments around the table.

Serving lunch and supper, the Adray is a great alternative to the Rond Point. It is an up market restaurant tucked away just by the Adray chairlift at Rond Point. The restaurant has a wonderful traditional interior with a log fire and a superb sun terrace. Great for lunch but even better for hot chocolate and cake in the late afternoon. Non skiers can get a skidoo from the road over too which is a nice little touch.
LE 1928, COL DE LA LOZE – +33 (0) 4 79 08 32 34
At the top of the Col de Loze linking the Méribel and Courchevel Valleys, this is ideally positioned to watch the parapenters fly over on a sunny day. Good Savoie food, with a big terrace, and ideal for a long lazy lunch in the sun. From here you can ski straight down to Méribel, so no need to worry about the last lift!
LA TERRASSE, MÉRIBEL VILLAGE – +33 (0) 4 79 01 03 55 {2}
La Terrasse caters for one and all from 10am to 1am every day of the week. It is at the bottom of the piste in the Village and is great for a quick spot of lunch or an evening beer! Open year round the huge terrace is a great sun trap and their burgers are great.

Located in Reberty 2000 – La Ferme has a welcoming interior which opens onto a large terrace on the slopes and has extensive lunch and dinner menus. Though this is one of the top three places in Les Menuires, the fixed-price menu can be relatively affordable at about €25 for appetizer, entree and dessert.

One of the most popular restaurants in the whole 3 valleys due to its great sun terrace that faces out onto the piste. It is aligned with plenty of deck chairs to sit back and relax in. The food is simple and yummy, plus very good value. Reservations are essential as it gets very booked up on sunny days.

Right at the bottoms of the Tougnete bubble this is the perfect spot for families with hungry tummies when ski school finishes. Fantastic kids menu, quick service and a lovely sunny terrace. Note that booking here is not possible so there may be a wait for a table when ski schools finish.

Copiña Courchevel, reminiscent of its Méribel counterpart with a stylish marble bar and cocktail menu, hides a cosy tapas restaurant that highlights Galician family-style dining. Guests can enjoy Spanish dishes with a modern twist alongside creative cocktails. The warm, communal atmosphere transforms each meal into a memorable celebration, making it a unique choice in Courchevel.

It seems that picnicking on the mountain is becoming more and more popular. Either order in advance picnic-style lunches or make your way to the Golf chairlift via the bakery for picnic goodies – huge baguettes filled to the brim with local cheese and ham, pastries, pizza, chocolate treats – you’ll be wanting to stop for lunch as soon as you get to the top of the lift!

This old favourite has lots to offer this year with a newly refurbished snack bar. The food here is excellent value and the service is quick – even when they are busy! We highly recommend their huge omelette or amazing Beaufort cheese tart – yummy!

Voted one of the best après bars in the world with a fantastic ski-in/ski-out suntrap terrace. The à la carte restaurant features a fusion of local and pan-European cuisine, complemented by a delightful selection of beverages, all served by a fantastic, multilingual team. A snack bar on the terrace is a great base for families and serves good Panini’s, burgers and chips.

Extremely well located in the heart of the 3Vs this is a great lunch spot. The snack bar downstairs offers a huge and good quality sandwich, vat of soup and drink for only 10 Euros. A bargain!

Attached to the slightly more upmarket Courchneige restaurant this is a great pit stop for those days spent cruising the Courchevel blue runs!

If you fancy a quick espresso as you are waiting for friends this is the perfect place to stop. This delightful café is into its second season and perfectly positioned in Courchevel’s most central location. With its modern and quirky interior, it makes a nice change from the usual glamour that you would find in Courchevel. Why not hop in for the best coffee in the neighbourhood to get you on your way?
Handy for ski school pickup

Super convenient for a post ski school lunch for all the family, big platters, pizzas, tex mex and a comprehensive burger menu, Jack’s sun terrace is on the roundabout at La Chaudanne, moments from ski school meeting points on foot.

A popular French restaurant on the roundabout at La Chaudanne, within the hotel Le Tremplin this venue has a more traditional menu and is a slightly quieter option opposite Jack’s.

It is not possible to book here as it operates a first come first served basis.
A family favourite just behind the Tougnete lift at the Chaundanne, right next to ski school drop off. A typically Savoyard menu, with its Onion soup a particular highlight, there is also a good children’s menu and a friendly atmosphere.
LA FLAMBEE, MERIBEL CHAUDANNE – +33 (0) 479 00 31 70 {2}
The original Italian restaurant in Meribel, La Flambee is very popular for dinner, but also a great option for post ski school pizza. A short walk from La Chaudanne, it is opposite the Hotel Le Kaila.
A little off the beaten track
LE CLOS BERNARD, MÉRIBEL ALTIPORT – +33 (0) 4 79 00 00 07 {2}
This cabin in the woods is a magical place to stop for lunch. A short ski from the Piste des Animaux at the bottom of the Loze chairlift this restaurant is tucked away in the forest. Offering a lovely lunch menu with an excellent wine list to go with it. They are also open on Wednesday evenings for a Savoyard feast of fondue and all the trimmings. Definitely one not to be missed!
CHEZ PÉPÉ NICOLAS, LES MENUIRES – +33 (0) 6 09 45 28 35 {3}
The perfect stop for your Val Thorens exploring days – this lovely restaurant offers a really good lunch menu for the hungry skier. Right on the side of the piste it’s easy to find and the food and service is really rather good.
REFUGE DE LA TRAYE, MERIBEL LES ALLUES – +33 (0) 6 95 73 20 90 {2 & hiking equipment required}
Le Refuge De La Traye offers something a bit special. This is a 5 star boutique hotel hidden away in the forest above Les Allues, only accessible by skis or on foot. A wonderful lunch spot and a great base for ski touring or snow shoeing for those more adventurous days, the effort to get here is well worth it for the spectacular views!

A Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of Le Praz offering beautiful food and classic Michelin standard service this is well worth a visit. A short taxi ride away, Le Praz is a beautiful, traditional alpine village with winding streets, ancient chalets and some great little hideaways like the Azimut. They also offer some great set menus for the more budget conscious!

A firm favourite with locals, this restaurant is a great choice for a quiet evening out. It is owner run and offers a lovely menu (amazing steaks!) and great service. As the name suggests, mushrooms feature prominently!

This restaurant is full of character and charm. It has an excellent menu with a choice of 12 Foie Gras and an exceptional list of fine wines. If you’re prepared to splash out, you won’t be disappointed.

Beefbar offers the rarest meats, from the most prestigious origins, matured and prepared according to the rules of the art: Black Angus from Argentina and the USA, Wagyu beef from Australia, Kobe beef from Japan.

Quickly becoming one of the most popular spots for our guests, Lilie opened last winter and has already developed an excellent reputation as one of the top restaurants in Meribel with a great menu and excellent evening atmosphere.
BRASSERIE LE 80 – +33 (0) 4 79 41 69 79
Attached to the Hotel de la Chaudanne le 80 is a firm favourite with our French clients and many regular holiday makers. Intimate and cosy with fantastic service the food is classically French with all the Savoyard trimmings. The sommelier this winter is very knowledgeable, and their wine list is extensive.
BISTROT MACHET, LA TANIA – +33 (0) 4 79 07 25 83
Bistrot Machet, created by renowned chef Julien Machet, offers a warm, inviting atmosphere and a menu of traditional Savoyard dishes perfect for sharing. Located at the base of La Tania, the restaurant is easily accessible from Courchevel’s slopes, or from the nearby resort of Méribel. Here, the team creates a welcoming “house” experience where guests can enjoy wholesome, hearty meals with friends and family.
L’EKRIN, MERIBEL CENTRE – +33 (0) 4 79 41 69 20
A Michelin-starred restaurant within an elegant luxury hotel, offers guests an intimate setting to enjoy an aperitif by the fire with soft piano music. Led by Chef Laurent Azoulay, who draws inspiration from his Provence roots and Savoie influences, the menu combines Mediterranean fish, regional ingredients like pine honey and saffron, and fresh vegetables from Tours. The cuisine is refined, colourful, and creatively blends traditional flavours with bold, inventive combinations.
Middle Range

A small and atmospheric Savoyard restaurant at Le Plateau, near the top of Méribel. The Cro Magnon offers great service and food (and plenty of it!) at reasonable prices.
L’IGLOO, MÉRIBEL CENTRE – +33 (0) 4 79 08 07 84
A nice break from the traditional Savoyard restaurants, this bar/restaurant in Méribel Centre is best known for great pizzas and burgers although they offer fancier food as well. Open 11am-11pm it’s a good place to know when other places have stopped serving. They have an in-built igloo (not real ice!) and it’s a great setting for a couple of cocktails as well!
CHEZ FIFI, MERIBEL MOREL – +33 (0) 4 79 22 11 36
After more than 60 years in Méribel, the iconic Kiki is passing the torch to FiFi. Established in 1960 at the heart of the Méribel resort, the restaurant underwent a transformation in 2022. Expect quality cuisine, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. FiFi’s Italian-inspired menu, rooted in the restaurant’s rich history, offers generous, refined dishes that will transport you across the Alps.

The Lodge du Village (LDV) caters for one and all from 10am to 1am every day of the week. La Terrasse has been a firm favourite for our Méribel Village guests since F&P started back in 2006. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength and their varied menu is a great option for those wanting to keep it local on staff night off. They also offer a meal delivery service direct to your chalet – La Terrasse Chez Vous which we can also highly recommend.

Sister restaurant to the locals’ favourite, this curry spot is perfect for those who have had their fill of local cheese! With a fantastic curry menu, excellent vegetarian options and the best menu of sides in town – it’s one of our managers’ favourites.
LE BO A MIL, MÉRIBEL VILLAGE – +33 (0) 4 79 00 75 48
Rustic and traditional Savoyard food right on our doorstep here in Méribel Village. It’s a unique building set in the cellar of an old chalet. If you want a good fondue or an onion soup then it’s perfect at only a stone’s throw from most of our chalets. You only need one course here, portions are huge!
