La Fruitière is the a la carte restaurant of the Folie Douce – the renowned après bar in Val d’Isère. Wrap up in an outdoor sleeping bag and enjoy delicious food outside despite the temperature at La Fruitière. If you’re looking for atmosphere and a lunch that can quite easily roll into après ski then there’s no better place.

With amazing views and fabulous food, it is a treat to eat at the restaurant here. Jean-Michel Bouvier is the chef behind this restaurant creating delicious dishes that everyone can enjoy. Great spot for a destination lunch. Traditional French cuisine done to a very high standard. Everything from pizzas, steaks, salads and more traditional Savoie dishes are fantastic. The beef carpaccio is a particular favourite! Friendly service and lovely sun terrace. Always busy so worth booking.

Perched up above Val d’Isère halfway down the infamous black run La Face (don’t worry you can easily get to it via the Bellevarde Express chairlift from the bottom) La Peau de Vache is the perfect pit stop for a cosy lunch. With a great wine list, and traditional Savoyarde dishes on the menu there is something for everyone.

Great traditional food in this mountain restaurant, an extremely reliable lunch spot – you always know you’ll get quality here. It’s so close to the bottom of La Daille, yet still on the mountain, that it doesn’t matter how much wine you drink!

It’s rare to find good food on the mountain in Val d’Isère for less than 10 Euros, so when you stumble across this restaurant you won’t believe your luck. It is the best self-service restaurant in the area with a speedy service and generous portions.

A popular place during lunchtime as it is only a short walk from the pistes and with very reasonable prices offering simple meals such as omelettes, burgers, salads and sandwiches. Definitely recommend for a quick pit stop if you would cheap but quality food. The coffee is great to!

With live music throughout the winter season, it is a hit with anyone who visits. It is fun and lively, has a great cocktail menu. You will find a rather centralized menu focused on steak or lamb or a fish of the day, but if you would like the all-round package for the evening, the La Baraque should be high on your list.

Le Garage, Val d’Isère
Bustling brasserie with an extensive menu including pizzas, delicious platters and burgers this was a welcome addition to the Val d’Isère scene. Perfect for a bite to eat before heading to the train station or airport, or on a bad weather day when you don’t fancy skiing. Interiors designed by local architect Jean Charles Covarel it’s housed in an old garage so has an industrial feel to it, unusual in Val d’Isère.
