Villa Tiha – Sumartin, Brač, Croatia
Looking out over a secluded bay towards the island of Hvar, Villa Tiha is a little oasis of exclusive luxury. It’s tucked down at the end of a private road, less than a couple of miles from the villages of Sumartin and Selva, in the south east of Brač and has terraces down to the beach and its own mooring. We love the outside spaces in this villa, and can’t get enough of that view. It’s built for entertaining, with an outdoor kitchen, music system, heated pool fitted with an exercise resistor and a Jacuzzi that will fit everyone.
Inside is spacious too – with most of the ground floor open plan, with floor to ceiling sliding windows opening out onto the terraces. The two large bedrooms on the first floor face south over the Adriatic with terraces, dressing rooms and bathrooms with spa baths. On the second floor, you’ll have to draw straws over who gets the master bedroom – it’s fabulous. The fourth bedroom on this floor has its own basin, and a bathroom on the floor below. And should the need arise for anyone to work whilst away, there’s a separate office. Best of all however, is that the villa comes with its own staff, so you won’t need to lift a finger for your entire stay.

activities
There are plenty of watersports to try, including boating, sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. If you’d prefer to stay on land you can enjoy hiking and biking on the island, and there are plenty of villages and historic spots to explore.
Brač
A short boat ride from Split, sits the resplendent island of Brač, with its stark white buildings topped with burnt red roofs, a rugged sand and shingle pine fringed coastline lapped by emerald water and the highest mountains of all its Adriatic neighbours. Less visited than the surrounding islands, it has a sleepy and seductive charm rarely found these days and seemingly unchanged since the Venetians planted scores of olive groves centuries ago.
Sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing take advantage of the breeze on one side, while the other is more about enjoying beach life – Zlatni Rat being the postcard perfect white spit pointing into turquoise water. Tiny villages, monasteries and fortresses dot the island, and the interior is a myriad of hiking and biking trails. The climb to the highest point of Vidova Gora will reward you with some quite spectacular views across to the mainland and sister islands. From the harbour town of Bol you can catch a ferry across to the next door island of Hvar, or just explore the old cobbled streets and tavernas.
