In September, Jo embarked on a two-week discovery trip to Agra, Delhi, and Rajasthan in India. The purpose of our discovery trips is to ensure that every F&P holiday we create for you is not just good, but truly extraordinary. We uncover the finest hotels and discover unforgettable experiences to share with our F&P guests.
Now, over to Jo to share her thoughts on all things India…
“Holidays come in many shapes and sizes—there are quick weekend getaways, serene beach retreats, those beloved annual escapes where you return year upon year, and then there are the adventures that push us out of our comfort zones. After years of exploring Africa, it has become like visiting an old friend, and I must admit I was a little nervous about my new adventure to India. I had my fair share of misconceptions: would I fall ill? Would it be too chaotic? Too noisy? Would the food be unbearably spicy?
India awakened my senses—it is indeed a spectacle, but not in the overwhelming way I had imagined. A well-paced India adventure is essential, as it allows you the luxury of time to soak in everything that you are seeing and experiencing. There is so much to see and do within India that it can’t all be squeezed into just one trip! I always say that a key to a good safari holiday is an excellent guide, and this rings true in India as well. It is through these incredible storytellers that you learn so much about the past and modern-day history, and the complex tapestry of cultures that make up this beautiful country.
It’s impossible to capture the essence of my two-week adventure in just a few words or to describe the many magnificent hotels that we visited, so you’ll find some of my highlights below.”
